As you you can tell by now I love my birds.

The full size Seagull was a project that has been in the back of mind since a kid.

A joint project with Andy Smith and Gavin Williams

bulletThe body profile top and bottom was cut with a CNC Cutter (templates will also work)
bulletWings are cut, once again I used the CNC cutter but no reason why templates cannot be used.
bulletI used a eh2510 at the root and a eh1010 at the tip

bulletGull wing cradle cut using a ply template
bulletWings vacuum bagged over cradle
bulletFeathers were cut into the trailing edge
bulletThe wings should look a bit like this
bulletI used RDS units and Robart hinges
bulletStarting to look like a gull
bulletWhile the Gull did fly with out any vertical control surfaces, it was very tender to fly.
bulletOne small mistake and you were nesting.
bulletI attached some clear PVC under the legs.
bulletIt now flies like a trainer.
bulletIt loops and flies inverted.
